A quick guide to get the best application of our decals!
Check our steps below to apply your decals to bottles, buckets or any other suitable surface!
1) Clean the surface
Before applying the decals, the surface should be thoroughly cleaned, to ensure it's dust, dirt and grease free. Use a little bit of soapy water and then ensure the surface is completely dry afterwards. Decals require a smooth, untextured surface to adhere to.
2) Firmly stick the application paper to the decal
Next, place the decal face up on a flat surface and firmly but carefully rub all over the decal with either a plastic/felt edge applicator or a plastic card (a credit card works well). This is to ensure the paper application tape is stuck well to the decal.
3) Peel away the backing paper
Turn the decal over, so that it is face down (with the grid and Oracal branded backing paper now face up). Then gently peel away the backing paper. Peel back carefully, as you may need to press the decal back down on to the transfer paper as you go - especially the smaller details and letters. Make sure none of the decal is left on the backing paper!
4) Align the decal on the surface
Carefully align the decal on the bucket/bottle/surface. Then firmly rub over the whole transfer tape (using an applicator or credit card again), ensuring the decal is firmly attached to the surface and bubble free. It's best to start in the centre and work outwards.
5) Reveal the decal!
FInally, slowly peel away the transfer paper tape, to reveal the decal!
After application, do not allow the decals to get wet for 24 hours, whilst they fully adhere to the surface.
